Group Dental Plans

Research shows a possible link between good oral hygiene and preventing cardiovascular disease. Researchers have found that people with periodontal disease are almost twice as likely to suffer from coronary artery disease as those without, according to the Journal of Periodontology. A good dental plan can assist in keeping overall health costs low for you and your employees.

Group Dental Plans Can:

  • Offer significantly lower costs to employees than individual plans
  • Provide the most comprehensive coverage
  • Be very flexible in covering various procedures
  • Provide tax advantages to your business
  • Serve as an excellent benefit to workers and their families, enhancing employee/employer relations

We work with nationwide carriers to ensure the best possible coverage for your employees.

Group Vision Plans

Vision benefits are smart for business. Providing vision insurance to employees can be a great benefits to them and to you as an employer. Boost the probability of retaining top talent, receiving maximum savings, and boosting employee morale just by offering vision benefits.

Group Insurance Can

  • Be an additional incentive to use when recruiting new employees
  • Give a tax benefit to both you and your employees, when paying premiums with pre-tax dollars
  • Offer strong perk to current employees who understand that costs are much lower for them with a group vision plan

Group Vision Plans Can Include:

  • coverage for annual eye exams
  • a standard allowance for frames or contacts lenses
  • flexibility to see both in-network and out-of-network providers

Group Disability Plans

Compassionate companies offer employees the ability to rebuild their lives after an unexpected event and protect their income with Group Disability products. We can facilitate the solidification of your business’ and your employees’ financial well-being.

Short-Term Disability

Temporary, short-term injuries - a car accident, back injury, or sports mishap - can disrupt the lives of your employees and lead to long-term financial consequences. With short-term disability insurance, you can provide a weekly income to employees who are unable to work. Short-term disability insurance creates a bridge back to full-time employment when a covered temporary disability prevents one of your employees from working.

Long-Term Disability

Your employees need to know that their income will be protected if they are out of work for an extended time due to an illness or accident. Long-term disability insurance picks up where short-term disability insurance leaves off. For you, it means not having to make tough decisions about whether to continue paying an employee's salary during an extended period of disability. Because the risk of long-term disability is increasing and the causes can be complex, it makes sense to give your organization the financial protection and competitive advantage of long-term disability coverage.

Group Life Plans

Group life insurance is an excellent way for you to provide a valuable benefit to your employees at a minimal cost to your company. Since no medical exams are generally required, all employees are eligible.

Offering Group Life Plans Can:

  • Provide peace-of-mind and protection to employees and their families
  • Add an incentive to keep and recruit quality employees
  • Offer tangible comfort and assistance to your employee's family in case of tragedy

Popular Group Life Options Can Include:

  • $50,000 per employee or other flat dollar amount
  • This option has strong tax advantages, as the IRS provides an exclusion for the first $50,000 of group-term life insurance provided under a policy carried by an employer. Plus, it is often available for pennies per thousand.
  • One-year salary equivalent
  • Two or three times the yearly salary

When choosing the right group life plan for your company, be sure to keep in mind the dynamics of your business. Changing employee demographics and the rate of business growth can lead to an outdated plan. Be sure to consult with your Accel Group partner for a yearly review.

Group Voluntary Benefits

Adding voluntary options to your core offerings will result in no additional cost to you, but greater choices and coverage for your employees. Your employees can pay for voluntary benefits through payroll deduction. Since many or most voluntary benefits programs are employer-sponsored, participating employees won't be taxed on the premium amount. And, because often there is no federal, state, or FICA tax paid on premiums when offered under a Section 125 cafeteria plan, adding voluntary benefits may result in tax savings for your organization.

Voluntary Benefit Options Can Include:

  • Optional Group Life: A cost-effective way to help you provide supplemental protection that's personalized and affordable.
  • Dependent Group Life: This low-cost life insurance coverage for spouses and children can be adjusted to meet individual and family needs. Dependent group life differs from optional life in that it is essentially an add-on program to the basic group life program.
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD & D): Most premature deaths are due to accidents. AD&D coverage, costing literally a few pennies on the dollar, can supplement group life insurance.
  • Long-Term and Short-Term Disability: Provide peace of mind by helping protect your employees' income, standard of living, and families. Have a plan in place to ease the financial discomfort caused by an illness or accident.
  • Dental/Vision: Voluntary dental coverage has been shown to represent one of the most valued options an employer can provide, with a participation rate averaging well over half.

Employee Assistance Programs

EAPs are intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health, and well-being. Programs generally include assessment, short-term counseling, and referral services for employees and their household members.

A sample of issues supported by EAPs:

  • Substance abuse
  • Safe working environment
  • Emotional distress
  • Major life events
  • Health care concerns
  • Family/personal relationship issues
  • Aging parent concerns
  • Financial and legal concerns

Health Savings Account (HSA)

A Health Savings Account is an alternative to traditional health insurance; it is a savings product that offers a different way for consumers to pay for their health care. HSAs enable your employees to pay for current health expenses and save for future qualified medical and retiree health expenses on a tax-free basis.

HSA Keys:

  • An HSA is not something you purchase, its a tool you use to save for purchases
  • Individuals own and control the money in their HSA
  • Both employer and employee can contribute up to IRS annual limits
  • Contributions can be made on a pre-tax basis
  • Contributions roll over from year to year
  • HSA's are completely employee-owned and stay with them when they move jobs
  • HSA's are consumer-driven, with a better understanding of real health care costs

Health Reimbursement Account

With an HRA, employers fund a health account that employees can access to get reimbursed for eligible medical expenses. HRAs offer employers more flexibility in plan design and premium savings. They are often part of partial self-funding or split funding plans.

Reimbursement Account Keys:

  • Health reimbursement accounts are available to companies of all sizes
  • Reimbursement accounts provide "first-dollar" medical coverage until funds are exhausted
  • Employers provide funds, not employees
  • All unused funds are rolled over at the end of the year
  • Former employees, including retirees, can access unused reimbursement amounts
  • Accounts do not follow an employee to new employment
